Both MAC and PC versions are completely new and contain the following features
New interface.
This update introduces a new more modern interface. Don't worry, we didn't change it all around, Current Core users will still be able to easily find everything. We just cleaned it up and modernized it a bit.
The General Options has be re arranged to a Tab style interface. As shown at the right
Auto Save. Core now implements an Auto Save function , In the event of power loss etc.. you wont have to worry about loosing all the work you have done. Enable Auto Save in the General Options
New icons for the Right Side Pane
With the addition of the new Effects Function, the right side container was getting crowded with the text descriptions. So, we added new icons to switch between different controls.
New View Options:
The View Options are available from the Select Mode , Right Click, Select View as shown in the image below.
Lock / Unlock. You can now choose to Lock or Unlock ass items in the design from the View Menu. This is much easier than clicking all the individual locks in the sequence view

Show / Hide Color:
We have added a Color Selection to the Filter view option. You can still Show/Hide colors from the sequence view as before.
But now you can also choose to show or hide color from the Filter View.
The Filter Options automatically updates the Lock and Eye icons in the Sequence View Pane

We simplified the the opening and saving of special files such as Styles, Motifs etc..
Access directly from the File >>Special Files menu item
The system will automatically direct you to the proper folder location.
Multi File Select for Batch Conversion
The Batch File Converter has been improved to allow selection multiple formats during your batch conversion process. This will greatly speed up the process of converting your old files.
New Fill Types
"Raised" Fill Type for Satin and Classic Satin (Platinum Level)
This Fill Type creates multi passes through the satin column resulting in a raised look to the stitching, This was the original way that digitizers created the raised stitching effect before there was such a thing as puffy foam.
In this image you can see the 3 passes that make up the Raised Fill method. We have changed the color in the image to make them easier to identify. The actual embroidery will be one color.
This effect gives a nice appearance, though, it is not as raised as the foam embroideries.
The resulting embroidery file will have a significantly higher stitch count than standard embroidery, However, Puff embroidery also has a higher stitch count due to the the extremely high densities required to cut and cover the foam material.
The Raised method stitch counts will be similar to the Foam design, without the added labor of placing and removing the foam
"Radial Fill" for Complex Fill (Platinum Level)
Radial fill uses a a new method of filling basic shapes. This method is not intended for complex shapes or shapes with holes.
Radial fill continually stitches in a radial fashion like spokes on a wheel.
Radial Fill accepts any of the fill stitching stitch types to produce unique effects. The Image below shows the different looks that can be achieved just by changing the stitch type
Use Radial fill to make unique decorative fills in items such as flowers, circles, and other shapes.
In this example We created a simple flower shape and a circle of radial fill with an outline using the rope double.
Radial Fill can also be used for dimensional shading, such as globes
Create 2 layers, and make the second layer radial . Activate Shape Edit and move the Magenta center point around the second layer to get unique shading effects
New Tools for Creating Free Standing Lace Designs (FSL)
Free Standing Lace designs are created by stitching on water soluble backing, instead of fabric. After the backing is washed away the resulting design that is left is a lace like piece of embroidery that is truly unique.
There are several very good tutorials on the Internet that describe this process. Search for the term "Free Standing Lace"
Core now has 2 new tools for creating these types of designs. Although developed specifically with FSL in mind, you can use these filling methods for normal embroidery also
New Grid Fill: (Platinum)
Grid Fill produces lattice stitching in your complex fill. This was developed for Free Standing Lace, but had many other uses from universal underlay, to Chenille, to whatever you can think up.
Would make a great base for stitching on carpet or other heavy pile materials
New Running Stitch Fill Types (Platinum)
Fill types for running stitches have been added to include 3 new "types" These Fill Types were developed primarily for Free Standing Lace, but can be used in any embroidery where a bolder run stitch is desired.
The Fill Types are Double Rope and Triple Double Rope as shown below.
Effects.
Effects are shortcuts to produce stitch effects. This makes it much easier than trying to remember the process to create the special effects that you can produce with your Core Program
Depending on your level, different effects will be available to you.
Effects are available once an item or items have been selected with the Shape tool
Once selected, you can quickly select the effect you want to apply to the item(s)
You can convert between tools (Satin->Complex Fill->Run Stitch->Artwork)
When converting from Complex fill to Satin, the Outline will be displayed, the operation will automatically switch to the Shape mode allowing you to place angle lines, split lines etc...
GOLD Level Users will have access to the Convert to Run Stitch, Artwork and Text Border
Text Effects
Text Effects greatly simplify the process of producing a Border stitch, an Outline or Glow Effect
To create a Text Effect Use the Select tool, Click on the Text and select the desired Effect.
You can reselect the text afgain to apply another effect, for instance,
Apply the Border effect, then re-select the text and apply the Outline effect
Improvements in Magic Wand and Auto Digitize
We have improved the function of the Magic Wand to get even better results. Your results will be smoother and more accurate than ever.
Auto Digitize has been extended to read direct vector information from vector files
Auto Digitize selective sections of vector artworks imported into the program, or current design
Example: In this example we are using a piece of SVG vector art
Assuming that we do not need the yellow flower parts, We can select only the stems and leaves from the Sequence list
Click Auto Digitize Core will create those segments
now, just drag, flowers from the library to make a new design
New and improved Name Drop
Name Drop is an optional module, if you do a lot of repetitive names , it is a great tool. This update contains improvements to the name drop module. If you already have name drop, these will be automatically added
Name Drops The Name Drops option has been improved to allow more flexibility when creating your name drops
Name drops can be created in 2 different fonts. Name drops can be saved as template files for easy recall
Name drops can be used with straight lines or arcs, or monograms
Step 1
Create your text (1 or 2 lines) in any way you want, Choose Font, Color, Alignment, Embroidery settings , whatever you want. If you are doing 2 lines, with different fonts, sizes etc.. Create them separately as shown in the image
Step 2 Select the 2 lines of text and click Name Drops from the Tools menu Core will populate the first name drop with Line1 and Line 2 text, This is just to generate the preview and provide you with guidance. You will enter your names for each name drop you want to create
Example:

Click Create to send to the working canvas
You can also include a design with your name drop , the design, known as a Decor, can be placed left, right or center There are a few sample decors in the system for you to test with, however, if you select a design with your name drop selection , Core will automatically add the design as a decor (into the decor library) for you to use
Once you have clicked Create, the name drop file will be sent to the working screen
It will look a little like a jumbled mess at this point, because all the names are centered on top of one another
You can scroll through the names , by activating Text mode and clicking any line of text. Hold down the CTRL Key and press Page Up, or Page Down. Core will automatically ghost out all the other items and display only your selection, where you can make further adjustments (kerning) if you like
Hint: To show all the names again, Activate Select , Right Click>>View>>Show All You do not need to show all in order to save, Core will save all your names
