Digitizing Modes

The Core system can be customized to operate in different ways depending on your preference.
For some, it is easier to learn the new program if it behaves more like a system they already know. For this reason we allow you to customize the way the CORE digitizing system inputs outlines

Thsi section does nto cover specific tool operation in detail, For more information on how to use the specific tool, please consult the section on Digitizing Tools

To change to way the input is handled , access the General Options under the Tools Menu

Select Digitizing

Default Mode

Simple Draw Mode

The default for the system is the Simple mode. For most users that have no experience with a drawing package such as Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator,  this mode works best

In Simple Draw, you place points on the line, depending on the setting of the "Curve Points as Default" a simple click will either place a curve or a corner point.
To make the opposite point hold down the Ctrl key and click

Bezier Mode

For users with experience with a drawing package, they will find the Bezier Mode more familiar. In this mode the points you place are corners, to place a curve, you click and old down the left mouse button and slide the mouse to create a curve of the desired radius. It takes some getting used to , but once you get it, its really quite easy

Due to the nature of the "Classic Satin" outlines, you cannot use the bezier input, it is however available as an edit feature once the block is created. To create bezier curves in Classic Satin , revert to the method for simple draw mode

Free Hand Mode

In Free Hand mode you simply click and hold down the left mouse button, and drag the cursor on the screen , the CORE system will lay points automatically along your line
This mode takes a steady hand and can be difficult to master

In addition to the basic mode, each general tool can be configured further.

Complex fill Group

Choose from either a Standard or advanced mode.

Standard- In Standard mode the Start and End points of the block are automatically configured at the first input point. In this mode  you input your outline, when completed, Right mouse click and the block will fill with the default stitch angle as set in the default setting.
To create holes or branches, press Enter instead of right click, the shape will close automatically and you will be able to input a second outline. When completed, click the right mouse to finish the block

Advanced- In Advanced mode, you input the outline, the same as standard mode, but when you are completed, and click the right mouse,  the block will not automatically fill. You will see the system has drawn the stitch angle line, but you can click on either end of it and drag it to your desired angle. Right click again and you will be prompted to input the Start point, you will know because the mouse cursor will have a small green dot attached to it. You will also notice a black dot will appear on the outline, this indicates where the system has determined is the closest point to the previous  block. A right click will accept that as the start point, or you can choose a different start point by left clicking anywhere along the outline. Once you have made your selection, the cursor will automatically change to a small red dot indicating that you should place the end point, similarly the system will recommend and end point which you can either accept with the right mouse or choose with the left.

In this mode, the Default angle does not apply

Satin Group

Normal Satin
